Xiaomi Mi A3 Highlights
Xiaomi Mi A3 is one of the highly awaited phones from Xiaomi. Mi A2 was a huge success for this brand. So, the expectation was quite high from Mi A3. We had a metal backside in Mi A2 which is now replaced by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Some may find it more practical and others may have the lack of that premium metal feeling. The frames are now made of aluminum and the front side is protected by a 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass. The device is 8.5mm slim and 173.8 grams light.
The design altogether looks pretty modern, up to date and stylish. On top of that, we are getting a Super AMOLED screen. But hold on there. The display is an HD+ one whereas a Full HD+ display was well-excepted. It is probably the only strong drawback of this smartphone. However, some may argue that an HD+ Super AMOLED display is still better than a Full HD+ regular IPS LCD display. Furthermore, HD+ display together with light Android One out of the box will drain much less battery than a Full HD+ screen with heavy UI. So, it is one positive aspect to consider.
The triple back camera comes with a 48 MP main shooter with Sony Sensor. It should capture excellent photos during the day, indoor and in night-time ambient. We have 4K video recording option with EIS and slow-mo. The camera is a great deal for the price. 32 MP front camera is also a very competitive one with 79° field of view and f/2.0 aperture.
There is nothing much to say about the performance. It is like other Xiaomi phones around this price with excellent performance for smooth HD gaming and endless multitasking. Don’t forget that, we have Android One too, which accelerates the phone even further. When you see a performance spec like Android 9 Pie (Android One), Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 (11 nm), 4 or 6 GB RAM, up to 2 GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU in an entry-level mid-range phone, it is like one awe-inspiring poetry for the tech lover.
The device comes with a 4030 mAh battery that should easily provide over one day backup to regular users. It has 18W Quick Charge 3 support which should fully charge the phone around an hour. The in-display fingerprint sensor is another highly impressive feature. The 64 GB ROM is usually fine enough, but there is also a 128 GB ROM version for those who need extended storage. The up to 256 GB MicroSD slot is shared with the second SIM slot. So, either you can use Dual SIM or one single SIM and a MicroSD card. Mi A3 has IR Blaster sensor and notification LED.
